Platts Agriculture set to move sustainable journey forward with the MOFFETT eSeries

Furthering their commitment to a sustainable way of working, Wrexham-based business, Platts Agriculture has invested in the MOFFETT eSeries NX to support their move to an all-electric vehicle company.
 
Established in 1973, Platts Agriculture has become a market leader in the UK in the animal bedding and cubicle conditioner market supplying farmers across the UK.
 
Conscious of the impact they have on their local environment, the company began the move to an all-electric vehicle company in 2021 and their recent Hiab purchase is set to move this journey a step forward. 
 
The MOFFETT eSeries NX offers several significant benefits including offering users a reduced cost of ownership and, a better return on investment. It also comes equipped with the latest lithium-ion battery technology meaning it does not generate or release any emissions.
 
Tom Mortimer, Group Transport Manager at Platts Agriculture, explained: “We’ve used HIAB equipment for some time, and it was a no-brainer to upgrade the current MOFFETT in our fleet to Hiab’s new electric offering when the time came. Reducing the impact we have on the environment is a key factor in our fleet decisions and the new MOFFETT will help us maintain our service levels, but lower our environmental impact which is a win-win for the business.”
 
The MOFFETT E-Series is the ideal distribution partner for moving goods both inside and outside. Its near-silent operation makes it perfect for urban distribution and night-time deliveries where noise pollution is an issue. 
 
Tom continued: “Our customers range from local family businesses to large university research farms. We’re aware of the impact we have on these communities when making our deliveries so upgrading our fleet to be able to deliver as normal and lower emissions and noise pollution is a benefit to everyone.”
