Hiab helps M-Sport move its sustainability journey forward

Hiab has helped leading global motorsport business M-Sport move its sustainability journey forward with the addition of a brand-new MOFFETT eSeries.

M-Sport were chosen to mastermind Ford’s assault on the FIA World Rally Championship 25 years ago, and is one of the sport’s most successful outfits with seven FIA World Rally Championships, 62 victories, 264 podiums and 272 consecutive points finishes to date.

Hiab has been M-Sport’s material handling partner for over 17 years allowing the team to move cars and equipment across the world and has enabled the team to achieve its success.

Last year, M-Sport committed to the future of rallying, aligning with Ford’s global strategy towards creating a more sustainable future.

M-Sport is fully committed to the introduction of greener technology and is introducing more sustainable ways of working both on and off the track.

Hiab is now aiding the team on this journey with the new MOFFETT eSeries, the world’s first lithium-ion powered truck mounted forklift.

The truck mounted forklift is equipped with the latest lithium-ion battery technology meaning it does not generate or release any emissions and has a near-silent operation.

Richard Millener, Team Principal at M-Sport explained: “It’s always been important for the sport to move with the times and this recent addition of the MOFFETT eSeries demonstrates our commitment to a more sustainable way of working.”

The MOFFETT eSeries provides users with all-wheel drive to give ultimate traction in all areas as well as being equipped with permanent magnetic high torque wheel motors.

Richard continued: “We’ve been the chosen partner to run the Ford World Rally team for the past 25 years and we compete globally from the frozen roads of Sweden right through to the hot gravel roads of Mexico. Hiab and MOFFETT offer us incredible machinery with great performance and reliability no matter the environment, but above all, they have the product for every job we require and they’re always there working for us.”

Jann Hansen, Vice President of Sales and Product Management, Truck Mounted Forklifts, Hiab, added: “Sustainability targets within motorsports are changing rapidly. Our eSeries machine is all electric, emission free with low noise and provides a lower cost of ownership for our customers- So it’s the perfect addition to a fleet to improve sustainability but maintain ways of working. We’re delighted to keep growing our relationship with M-Sport and we look forward to supporting them on their journey to more success.”
