Tree Removal Equipment

Tree removal equipment is essential for safely and efficiently removing trees, whether for landscaping purposes or due to safety concerns. There are various types of equipment that can be used for tree removal, including loaders, hooklifts, and cranes. Knuckle boom cranes, in particular, offer precise and safe tree removal capabilities, making them a popular choice for the industry. These cranes are highly maneuverable and can reach into tight spaces, making them well-suited for removing trees in confined areas.

What is a Tree Crane?

A tree crane is a particular type of equipment that is utilized for certain tree work and removals. The HIAB knuckle boom tree crane comes with special equipment such as jib configurations and grapples that are specific to tree removal.

Material Handler Loader

With a highly competitive tree care market, businesses need reliable equipment with a lower operating cost. HIAB loaders allow the amount of labor on-site to be reduced, while working more quickly, reliably, and safely, which achieves a greater efficiency with a controlled cost. HIAB offers a wide range of Loaders with an array of attachment options and a variety mounting configurations to suit every application in tree care.

With a high lift capacity to low weight ratio and compact dimensions, HIAB Loaders provide the speed and flexibility to streamline any tree care operation. When equipped with a grapple, less workers can safely and efficiently perform tree care and removal, which is the ideal solution to maximize productivity and bring a prompt return on your investment.

MULTILIFT Hooklift

MULTILIFT Hooklifts bring a long overdue level of convenience and versatility to tree care operations. MULTILIFT hooklifts can handle materials with ultimate efficiency, speed, and reliability. Designed and built with superior high-strength steel on a lightweight frame, therefore payload is maximized. MULTILIFT trucks are capable of exchanging bodies (completely changing application) in 2 minutes or less.

Bodies can be left and/or exchanged on site, enabling works to seamlessly continue and the truck to remain available for other works. MULTILIFT can, therefore, expand the competencies of your business without growing fleet size. Productivity is increased without jeopardizing safety and overhead costs.

Features and Specifications

HiConnect Remote Connectivity

HIAB HiConnect™ is a web-based dashboard that displays insights on equipment usage, location, time in operation, idle time, and productivity level. By enabling new insights, it helps you to further increase efficiency, productivity, and safety. HiConnect is the latest technology in terms of connectivity capabilities. Being able to remotely access data is key to maximizing your business with facts instead of assumptions. HiConnect maintains constant contact with all units, giving fleet managers the ability to stop unsafe behavior and usage before an incident happens. With the ability to view service history and plan upcoming services, your fleet has minimum downtime and increases daily efficiencies.

Image

HiPro Control System

The HiPro control system with Overload Protection (OLP) is standard on all K-Cranes and brings an unprecedented level of safety to operations without reducing performance. When approaching an overload condition, the crane gives an audible and visual signal at 90% and will stop all radius increasing functions once full capacity has been reached. Automatic Speed Control (ASC) reduces dynamic loading by progressively reducing the speed of the crane when the capacity is between 80% and 100%, preventing operators from performing unsafe, abrupt movements.
Image

Variable Stability Limit

HIAB’s Variable Stability Limit system (VSL) monitors the truck’s stability by registering the extension of stabilizers and monitoring the pressures at each leg to determine the maximum safe capacity of the crane, allowing for higher capacities in situations where the legs are not able to be fully extended. VSL and VSL Plus are available on all Hiab K-HiPro cranes (285, 425 and 505) with VSL Plus available for the 505, which compensates for the weight of the load on the truck, offering even greater lifting capacities, increasing the efficiency of any business.

Load Stability System

Load Stability System (LSS-V) provides smoother, more precise vertical boom motions. If an operator performs a hard stop while raising or lowering a load, the LSS-V system controls boom movement, minimizing the bouncing of the boom and load, while preventing load damage and unnecessary stress on the crane’s components. This feature works in the background to smooth out boom functions allowing for easier placement of the load, making deliveries faster and more efficient. By controlling boom movement and minimizing the bounce of the boom, the structural stress is reduced, thus increasing the expected service life of the crane.

Crane Tip Control

Crane Tip Control (CTC) is an optional feature available for the 285 and 425 cranes. It allows the crane’s controls to be controlled by three levers – the horizontal extension from the truck, the vertical lift, and the rotation of the crane. CTC provides a simplified operation, reducing training time when onboarding new operators, while allowing operators to perform complex techniques safely and efficiently.
Image

Semi Automatic Folding

Semi Automatic Folding (SAF) simplifies the stowing process reducing it to a single-lever operation, protecting the crane and the truck from damage. It allows a single lever operation to fold and unfold the crane, while activating just one lever, which greatly simplifies this frequent routine operating task.

CombiDrive3 Remote Control

The HIAB CombiDrive3 remote control increases efficiency by giving the operator freedom of movement to use the best possible position to view the load. It comes standard with a 100%, 70%, or 50% speed switch. This feature allows the operator to easily change the speed of the crane - especially useful when adjusting heavy loads at long outreaches. The HIAB CombiDrive3 remote control is reliable and worry-free industrial component designed to last the life of the crane.

Estop System

An optional E-stop kit improves safety. One hit on the button stops all operations – just what you need in an emergency, such as hydraulic system failure. This option also includes operator indication for transport status of boom and stabilizers and operational status of capacity.
Image

Load Holding Valves

For enhanced safety, Hiab Loaders can be equipped with Load Holding Valves (LHV) for boom systems and/or slewing. LHV's will keep the load safe and stationary in the event of damage to a hydraulic hose or connector.
Image

Out and Down Stabilizers

Hiab Loaders come standard with "Out-and-Down" style stabilizers, which offer wider span for better stability. Also, the stabilizer beam is separate from the loader's base, allowing flexible installations, as it can be fitted either side of the base without structural modifications.
Image

Hose Protection Link

Hose Protection Link (HPL) incorporated with the internal boom hoses safely route the hoses to the boom tip and reduce the opportunities for impact damages. Hoses are also equipped with quick couplings for easy maintenance and replacement.
Image

Double rack'n'pinion slewing system

The column design offers use of high-torque rack and pinion slewing mechanism for more precise and efficient loader control. In addition, the double racks offer higher slewing torque capabilities for more efficient loading and better performance in uneven terrain. The slewing mechanism is lubricated constantly in an oil bath, increasing reliability and extending the loader’s working life.

Weight to Capacity Ratio

Built using high-grade steel and an optimized structural design, Hiab Loaders are both lightweight and long-lasting. Their structural design is engineered for an optimal weight to lift capacity ratio, offering heavier payloads paired with the strength and power to get the job done. This translates directly to better profitability for every load.
Image

Precision Hydraulic System

Hiab Loaders have a Precision Hydraulic System with a fixed pump, 2 circuit system. Its high pressure filtration and other operational characteristics, such as their control valve/spool design, create a smooth operation with high flow capabilities.
Image

Electric Cab Controls

All MULTILIFT systems are outfitted with electric cab controls as a standard feature, not an upgrade.
Image

High Tensile Steel Construction

All MULTILIFT systems are constructed using a high tensile steel, reducing the amount of steel required to get the job done without compromising the system's integrity.
Image

Dual Pivot Design

All MULITILIFT systems incorporate a dual pivot design, for smooth loading/unloading and true dump capabilities.
Image

Hook Safety Latch

All MULTILIFT systems include a hook safety latch, securing the bail bar at all times.
Image

Body Up Warning Light

All MULTILIFT systems include a body up warning light, which is functional whenever the truck is powered on.
