Start and basics

Hi there. Great to have you with us. The My Hiab app is free of charge. It is organised by the main features shown above.

We built MyHiab as a companion app to support you with your daily work and to introduce you to our solutions which may help you with future jobs.

However, we try to help you especially in unfavourable situations like a breakdown. These things happen, usually when you need them the least. Therefore we recommend having the MyHiab app always installed on your phone. It contributes to our “built to perform” philosophy and how to get back on track if needed.

MyHiab is multilingual and we are working hard to add more languages to the app and to the content. The language selection is automatic according to your phone’s language. However, you can change the application language in settings.

MyHiab supports light and dark phone themes. You can set this preference in the Settings page.

Registering and unregister

You can create an account in MyHiab app. Account authentication is done via existing Google or iOS accounts. In addition to your basic information you should also fill out the equipment information. This is needed to gain full functionality of the app. A registered account will speed up your settings when operating the app. In addition only registered users can use certain functionality, like the checklist feature or other future features to come.

You can unregister by simply removing all of your equipment information or by sending an email to myhiab.support@digi.hiab.com

Logging in

After successful registration (i.e. filling your personal information and at least one equipment) you can log-out and log-in as you wish.

This is done via the options menu.

Add, select and delete equipment

If you register, you are asked to add your first equipment. You can only use the full feature set of MyHiab in case you registered an equipment.

In case you want to add equipment, press the equipment banner. This brings you to the equipment selection page. From there you can add, select and delete equipment.

Reminder Date

The reminder date indicates the next service due for your equipment. Therefore, the equipment must be registered and it must have a service history at Hiab or at a Hiab authorised service workshop.

In case the equipment is new and previously unknown, the owner can set the service information via HiConnect.

In case you want to pause the notifications, you can do so from the settings menu. In case you pause the notification, it will show only when the next service is due.

The service date is based on various counters. If in doubt, the equipment owner can check further details in HiConnect.

“Sharing” will open the phone’s share centre and copy/paste the reminder date information to the message, which you can send to the equipment owner or to the workshop.

Locator

The locator allows you to look up the next Hiab partner around you. This feature becomes handy if you are faraway from the home base and you need immediate support. The locator presents you results based on your choices or preferences of your equipment. E.g. in case you look for loader crane support nearby, the feature will only show Hiab authorised workshops with this capability. You can choose to utilise your current location or you type your location. The feature will show you the results on a map and in a at the bottom of the view. The list can be moved over the map by sliding the bar which is at the top of the list.

Once you find a suitable partner, you can share the information with your dispatcher or fleet manager or can contact the workshop directly. The locator feature also includes a navigation feature to get you there.

You can also check further partner information from the Details page. You reach the details page by pressing the chevrón icon (triangle pointing to the right). Also the Details page allows sharing, navigation and contacting the Hiab authorised service partner.

Error code

In case the equipment goes into a protective state or in case of a fault, the control system generates an error code. To see the error code, the equipment must be equipped with a display. (N.B. in some cases the display is an accessory and it is not always installed by default. If in doubt, contact your manager or Hiab)

Type the error code, including any letter, to the text input field and press search. The result gives you information about the fault and where applicable additional information of how to fix the error. However, in many situations it will be the safest solution to ask Hiab trained technicians to fix the problem and to calibrate the equipment afterwards.

In addition you will receive information about the severity.

You can share this information with your manager or any Hiab authorised workshop.

Video

This feature presents you video content according to our preferences. The video title and the video description are translated into the supported languages. Check if your video already offers subtitles in your language. You can star and share the video. We are continuously adding more content. If you have a wish about a certain topic, please do not hesitate to contact us. The more requests we get for a certain topic, the more likely it is that we can address it in future content.

HiConnect

This is your direct path to HiConnect.

HiConnect is Hiab’s fleet management and analytics tool. Check a single unit, a group of units or the entire fleet for their performance or health. Locate equipment or look at what your equipment wants to tell you.

HiConnect requires your equipment to be connected. If you want to use HiConnect, contact your Hiab representative in case you are the equipment owner or act on behalf of the equipment owner, or ask from your supervisor in case you work as an employee or in an employee-like position. HiConnect is available in the following languages:

DE, EN, ES, FI, FR, IT, NL, NO, SV.

You will also find a brief explanation from here.

Checklist

The checklist feature presents you every day with a new checklist for your selected equipment. The list contains all the pre-shift items you should inspect before starting your work with the equipment.

You can check an item or comment on it by pressing the chevrón icon (open triangle pointing to the right). Commenting allows you to set the item to not applicable (n/a), or to leave a text note.

The feature will save and remove your checklist and all its comments at the end of the day and present you a new one after that. You can download your previous checklists in case there is a need to follow up on these. The csv file will be sent to your registered email.
