International logistics service provider DB Schenker from Germany added eight new electric FUSO eCanter vehicles to be used for deliveries in several Norwegian cities before the summer.

The new electric vehicles come equipped with ZEPRO Z 10-135 tail lifts and a separate battery pack installed by Ulefoss Skap

DB Schenker is pioneering emission-free last mile deliveries in Norway with electric trucks and ZEPRO tail lifts. In 2019, the company received its first electric vehicles, eight MAN eTGE trucks with ZEPROs installed and added a further 17 new eTGEs in 2020. In the same year, the company was also the first in Norway to use the 16 tonnes Volvo FL Electric that can hold up to 18 pallets with a 1500 kg capacity ZEPRO tail lift at the back.

This comes as part of DB Schenker’s effort to become a leading provider of green logistics in Europe and in January they announced that they were expanding their electric fleet with 36 new FUSO eCanter vehicles.

Cyrille Bonjean, Head of Land Transport Europe at DB Schenker then said: “We focus on sustainability, from the first to the last mile. Emission-free logistics in cities is already possible today, as we are demonstrating throughout Europe. Our customers continue to get the same service but with zero local emissions."

“Our vision is to be the number one partner in smart and sustainable load handling solutions. It is great to see truck manufacturers and logistics service providers launching and using emission-free vehicles. Our ZEPRO tail lifts can be installed on all electric trucks with the same high performance and keep everyday life moving in a more sustainable way,” says Peter Robertson, Director, Global Product Management, Tail Lift.
