Hiab and Project Mercury

Hiab stories | 21 december 2020 10 :6 AM

Did Hiab go to the moon? Not exactly, but Hiab made a small but valuable contribution to NASA’s Project Mercury. This was the United States’ first first man-in-space program and made six manned flights from 1961 to 1963. This paved the way for the moon landing in 1969. The first capsules landed in the Pacific Ocean and were lifted safely out of the water by Hiab Speedloader cranes.
