Meet Anna Kawecka, Sustainability

Anna joined Hiab in 2021 and is currently working as the Senior Sustainability Manager in Responsible Sourcing.

“I was drawn to Hiab for several reasons: the fascinating cargo flow equipment industry, the company culture, and most importantly, Hiab’s ambition to become a leader in sustainability. The company’s strong commitment to Science Based Targets really stood out to me.”

Anna’s role is dynamic and multifaceted. As a Senior Sustainability Manager, her days are focused on driving responsible sourcing programmes across the Environmental, Social, and Governance spectrum. This means she is deeply involved in key initiatives such as decarbonisation, supplier assessments, responsible minerals due diligence, and product compliance with hazardous substances regulations.  

“On a typical day, I’m in meetings with suppliers and the sourcing team, networking with partners from the Responsible Minerals Initiative, and aligning with various internal teams—sustainability, compliance, legal, and R&D. It’s a constant collaboration.”
 
Beyond meetings, Anna also dedicates her time to process improvements, documentation, and strategy development to keep Hiab at the forefront of sustainability.  

“I’ve always been passionate about sustainability, particularly in areas of environmental impact and human rights. The positive changes we’re making throughout our supply chains inspire me every day.”  

Anna is driven by her commitment to making a difference and feels fortunate to be part of a company that empowers her to create tangible, lasting change.
