After earning her degree in Electronic Engineering, Laura joined Hiab as a trainee in the R&D department in 2012. Early in her career, she gained valuable insights into Hiab’s products and the core activities within the control system. She quickly progressed to the role of Control System Engineer, where she focused on defining and developing software features. With years of experience and expertise, Laura was promoted to Control Systems Manager in R&D in 2021, overseeing the control systems of Heavy and Super Heavy crane models produced at the Italian manufacturing site, while leading a local team.

In August 2024, she took on the role of Senior Manager - Monitoring & Safety for the newly established Motion and Control - Center of Excellence. With a larger team spread across Europe, primarily in Hudiksvall, she made the decision to relocate from Italy to Sweden.

Laura chose to join Hiab as it offered a fantastic opportunity to enhance her skills in research and development while satisfying her curiosity about this dynamic sector.

“When I started working at Hiab, I discovered a fascinating world of technologies like electronics, hydraulics, and mechanics. I became deeply passionate about it and realised that I could contribute to making a difference. Sometimes, when I see a crane operating in various parts of the world, I think about my role in making it possible, which is incredibly rewarding.”

Now based in Vallentuna, where Olsbergs Electronics has its production plant and Motion & Control is located, Laura frequently travels to Hudiksvall to connect with her team, staying actively engaged in their projects and collaborating to tackle exciting challenges and drive success together.

Her daily responsibilities involve collaborating with colleagues, other Motion & Control leaders, and various departments to discuss new projects and plans. Laura also actively participates in different development activities. She values her team's commitment to individual growth and development and is enthusiastic about fostering this culture even further in the future. With a strong sense of belonging, she feels as if she is part of a family within her team.

Laura is passionate about product innovation and digitalisation, constantly exploring how lessons from other fields, such as artificial intelligence and the automotive industry, can be applied to her work. She aims to continue working on meaningful projects that contribute positively to our planet, particularly in reducing atmospheric emissions.

“I am incredibly grateful to everyone who supports my professional growth. I learn something new every day, and I'm excited to see what challenges lie ahead.”
